Elementary I want to officially welcome all of you to the 2015-16 school year. Summer has come and gone and we must now move forward with many exciting things to follow. We have been very busy this summer preparing for another great year. I am privileged to have the opportunity to return this school year as your Principal and I feel honored to work with our highly qualified and dedicated staff, our wonderful students and all of the supportive parents. The elementary years are critical times of development for students and families and I look forward in working with all of you to make this school year successful. I am a lifelong educator and I am committed to students and families as well as a love for learning. We are looking forward to a productive partnership with all of our families to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. The wonderful West Platte Staff and I feel privileged to be a part of this school family. We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you at Open House on August 12th. Rebecca Henshaw, Principal See Yourself Here.... See Yourself Here.... High School Dear Students, Welcome to the 2015-16 school year. One of the biggest joys of being an educator in our district is the fact that we get to work with West Platte students each day. Without a doubt, you carry on a legacy of students who show excellence and leadership in the classroom, on the athletic fields, and within our community. Dr. Logan Lightfoot, Principal I encourage each of you to take full advantage of this upcoming year and make your own legacy. Our teachers are thrilled to begin a new year of learning and growing. They are prepared to give you their best each day. They will challenge you to reach your highest potential. That being said, the choice to achieve excellence lies within you. I truly believe we have a top-notch school and staff; however, it is each student within our school that makes West Platte such a great place. Get ready, get involved, and don’t miss this opportunity to achieve great things. Remember, you are the decisive element. After all, it is the singer, not the song, that makes the music move along! I look forward to welcoming you back in a few short weeks. I love being your principal! 6
