A long-serving
Bishop’s Stortford
resident has
become chairman
of East Herts
Council.
Keith Warnell, who
represents Bishop’s Stortford Meads,
chose Isabel Hospice and Mind as his
charities for the year, as well as hoping
to support some small organisations.
“It’s a great honour to be chosen as
chairman and I will be proud to promote
the values of East Herts,” he said.
“I’m particularly interested in cultural
diversity in East Herts and the role of
organisations like the Scouts and Air
Training Corps who help young people to
develop confi dence, independence and
life skills.
“I’m also keen to support the varied
work of volunteers in social care
organisations without which our society
would be signifi cantly the worse. I’m
looking forward to the opportunity to
meet these groups and promote their
efforts and ventures.”
A trustee of Isabel Hospice, he has been
a councillor for 19 years and has lived
in East Herts for the last 41 years. He’s
married with two adult children and his
hobbies include motor racing and golf.

Graham McAndrew, executive member

of the council’s persistence and
determination to ensure that this man,
who is clearly unfi t to be a taxi driver, is
no longer licensed by East Herts Council.
“It is clear that the council’s processes

ensuring that our licensed taxis offer a
safe experience for passengers.”
