traveled with
Team Indiana to compete in
Fargo, North Dakota. Fargo is
the site of the USMC/USAW
Cadet and Junior Freestyle
Nationals held at FloArena.

style competition from July
14-16 and enjoyed great
success at the tournament
while wrestling some terrific
matches. With 86 wrestlers
in the 138-pound weight
class, Bryer Hall was able to
amass a record of 8-2 over
three days and claim fourth
place which also awards him
All-American status for the
national tournament.
Fargo is considered one
of the elite national summer
tournaments for wrestling and
attracts top competition from
around the country. Of the
86 competitors in Mr. Hall’s
weight class, top wrestlers
from 36 of the 50 states were
represented in the bracket.
After receiving a bye in the
first round, Mr. Hall defeated
Aidan Ernst of Iowa by a
score of 10-0 at the 1:22 mark
of the first period. Ernst is an
Iowa Greco champion this
year and freestyle runner-up.
A ten-point win demonstrates
technical superiority to end
the match at that point.
This advanced Mr. Hall to
the round of 32 to face Aaden
Valdez of Colorado. Mr. Hall
suffered one of his two de-
feats to the Colorado wrestler
who would later forfeit out of
the freestyle competition but
placed fourth in the Greco-
Roman Nationals the next
week. The score was tied 2-2
when Mr. Hall was pinned
at the :24 mark of the first
period.
The loss dropped Mr. Hall
to the consolation bracket
where he would battle his way
back to gain All-American
status. Mr. Hall’s first match
in consolation was against
Sean Dawson of West Vir-
ginia where Mr. Hall scored
another win by technical fall
10-0 at the 2:45 mark of the
second period.
Next, Mr. Hall faced Jacob
Tinajero in an exciting match.
Tinajero is the Illinois free-
style state champion this year
at 145 pounds. Mr. Hall and
Tinajero were in a close battle
5-4 when Mr. Hall recorded
a great pin at the 2:45 mark
in the second period over a
neighboring-state champion.
Mr. Hall’s next match was
against Isaac Ortegon. The
second-place Greco wrestler
and third-place freestyler from
Wisconsin proved no match
for Mr. Hall. After a couple
of stall warnings on Mr. Hall
early, he turned on the gas to

record a 12-2 win by technical
superiority at the 3:06 mark of
the second period.
Michael Caliendo, the
Illinois freestyle runner-up
this year at 138, was the next
match for Mr. Hall. He dis-
played his technical superior-
ity again over this opponent
with a 10-0 win at the 2:17
mark of the second period.
A win in Mr. Hall’s next
match would guarantee him
All-American status as a top-
eight finisher. Mr. Hall faced
Brayden Roberts of West
Virginia and put an emphatic
stamp to the match with a fall
at the 1:06 mark of the first
period while leading 4-0 at
that point.
Now it would be about
gaining steps up the podium
for Mr. Hall. Mr. Hall’s next
opponent was Wisconsin
Greco-Roman and freestyle
state champion Luke Mechler.
Mr. Hall pulled out a great
match decision victory 6-2.
This advanced him to wrestle
Jagger Condomitti of Penn-
sylvania. Condomitti comes
with an extensive resume as
well as both the 2017 Penn-
sylvania freestyle champion
and Northeast (US) Greco
champion as well as being a
national champion in disci-
plines in both 2015 and 2016.
The match was a back and
forth battle that went the dis-
tance. Mr. Hall takes an early
lead, with Condomitti coming
back with big points. Mr. Hall
then battled back to go up five
and held on after a final four-
point flurry by his opponent

Mr. Hall had battled his way
back through the entire con-
solation bracket for a chance
for third place. He faced
Jackson Dean of Delaware

at the tournament. Mr. Hall
got caught in a quick-scoring
move by Dean and lost a 10-0
technical fall at the :17 mark
of the first period.
Bryer competed as part of
Team Indiana during the tour-
nament and wrestles scholas-
tically for the South Dearborn

tering his sophomore year. As
a freshman, Mr. Hall placed
sixth for the Knights at the
