The North Dearborn Pantry just finished new construction of a warehouse at the rear of their parking lot . The space they previously used is no longer available . When we go to buy food for our house , we buy a jar of peanut butter and a jar of jelly . The Pantry gets peanut butter and jelly in hundreds of pounds on skids ( along with many other food items ) several times a month , so the warehouse is a necessity . Thank you to the Dearborn Community Foundation , the Rising Sun Regional Foundation for grants and many other individual donations to fund this project . In addition to the warehouse , you may notice the parking lot at the Pantry was recently blacktopped and re-striped when the entrance and exit were changed . Thanks again to a generous donation to get this project completed .
Bright Lions Club would like to thank United Community Bank for a generous donation . E . G . McLaughlin and Joe Alig were guests at the September meeting to present a check to support Lions projects in the community . Thanks to Mike and

E . G . McLaughlin , Mike Bender , and Joe Alig presented a check to support Bright Lions projects .
An arrow on Georgetown Road was part of a 2-stage project between Bright farms .
Diane Bender for sharing .
One of my favorite autumn scenes in Bright is across the street from the entrance to Einsel Rd . Lonny and Glenda Baker ’ s lake with the trees in the background in full color is very picturesque . But I must say , I admire that lake in all seasons . If you visit Bright Meadows Park , walk around to the far-front corner and look to the east to see a perfectly framed scene , again with a pond and trees in the background . This charming pond belongs to Tom and Amy Schenk . My last autumn scene suggestion is to drive on I-74 heading east between St . Leon and West Harrison . Early in the morning , you may think you ’ re in the foothills of Kentucky , especially if there ’ s a bit of fog hanging in the valleys . If you frequent these scenes or others in the area , take a moment of your busy schedule to admire and appreciate the charming area in which we live .
All signs point to Bright , or more specifically the Davis Farm on Georgetown Road . The arrow was originally installed in 1971 to mimic the twin arrows on Route 66
The fourth grade class of St . Lawrence fourth grade class raised money to donate to the Red Cross for hurricane relief .
in Arizona . Mr . Bob Weaver had planned to install a bow on his property to indicate that the arrow was shot from his farm . Here ’ s hoping someone will take on this part of the project in the future …
As I write this article , I ’ m on my way to Washington D . C . for a long weekend with friends . I ’ ve been before with Donnie and the kids , so I ’ m looking forward to seeing the sights from an adult perspective . My October wish for everyone is that you take time to enjoy the autumn color , enjoy visits with friends , and give back to the community , one way or another .

Jaxen kissed Baby Fiona through the glass at the zoo .
Harvey relief effort . The kiddos raised almost $ 300 which was donated to the Red Cross . Way to go !!!
Recently one of our very own HVL residents made his debut modeling appearance on the cover of Comforts Training Pants- two-yearold Jaxen Lischkge . Jaxen was selected from a group of children to represent the 2T- 3T size ( we think because of his huge smile ). Comforts is an exclusive brand of Kroger that just went through a major re-design . On an entirely unrelated note , while at the Cincinnati Zoo , Jaxen decided to give Fiona the Hippo a kiss through the glass . Grandpa captured the moment with a photo , and the zoo posted it on their Facebook page resulting in 28,000 likes , 3700 shares , and over 600 comments ( with lots of hearts and ‘ OMG precious ’ and ‘ oh how cute ’). Jaxen ’ s parents , grandparents , and uncle are all HVL residents and super proud of Jaxen .
