DCH Brand Identity Set for Sustainable Growth
Dearborn County Hospital is in the process of implementing its strategic plan for the next two years . The strategic plan is structured around six pillars , one of which includes rebranding the hospital . The new brand of DCH will emphasize what the hospital represents- quality , growth , and efficiency .
“ For many people , rebranding means only that you change your logo and colors . While the changing of logos or corporate colors may be included in a rebranding effort , it is only one small part of a much more in-depth and comprehensive initiative ,” explained Michael W . Schwebler , Dearborn County Hospital President / CEO . “ Rebranding is creating a new , more accurate identity for the hospital along with establishing core values and system-wide principles . This includes the re-envisioning of our mission statement and the development of a brand promise . Most importantly , it means making a commitment to adhere to our mission , vision , and values in all we do , 365 days a year .

“ Last summer , focus groups , comprised of area healthcare consumers , were asked targeted questions pertaining to their perception of the hospital ’ s brand including its name . A secondary round of focus groups was then convened to explore potential new names and logos .
“ The research concluded that the name ‘ Dearborn County Hospital ’ did not accurately represent the present-day hospital on numerous fronts ,” emphasized Mrs . Hornberger . “ While the use of the words ‘ Dearborn County ’ did represent ownership , it severely limited the perceived geographic scope and significance of the facility . To many , the word ‘ county ’ automatically implied a smaller , less sophisticated facility and / or one which primarily served the basic needs of lower income or indigent populations . Using the term ‘ hospital ’ implied a singular or stand-alone facility , not representative of our full range of services , providers , and facilities .”
The new brand will be introduced to the community in the first quarter of 2018 , “ We strongly believe that the new brand will better represent all that DCH has to offer to the region ,” noted Mr . Schwebler .
Patient care and interaction are being refined and enhanced in all aspects of the hospital from acute care to physician appointments . The community will notice a greater emphasis on how the hospital serves both its patients and interacts with the community .
“ Many new and exciting things are in store for DCH in 2018 . We look forward to providing even greater care and service for our community in the year ahead ,” concluded Mr . Schwebler .
BABA Contributes to the Community
The Bright Area Business Association ended the year on a high note by making a large donation to the Bright Fire Department . Proceeds from the Golf Outing , Bright Festival , and BABA-Q enabled the group to present checks to the Bright Fire Department and the North Dearborn Food Pantry .
At the end-of-year meeting , Diane Bender was named Business Member of the Year . Mrs . Bender is the backbone of so many activities for organizations in and around Bright including the North Dearborn Pantry , the Lions Club , and St . Teresa Benedicta of the Cross .

FSB Applauds Employee Achievements
The Friendship State Bank and Friendship Insurance employ one hundred eighteen people at eight locations in Southeast Indiana . Fifty-four of those employees have been employed ten years or longer .

bought out . “ And here I am twenty-five years later and with a bank who has no intentions of selling out ,” Davies said . “ Community banks are becoming rare which gives us the opportunity to shine by being present and engaged in our communities .”
Ms . Purvis was hired in 1997 after her insurance agent , Tom Lewis , encouraged her to apply . She decided to give it a try and hasn ’ t looked back .
