Last month ’ s question of the month was , “ What are the names of the four car dealerships that were located in Sunman in the late 1940s and early 1950s ?” I had two close responses from Herschel Hildebrand and Pat Scharf . The answer is Mack Bros . that sold Chevrolet , Osborn
Motor Company sold Ford , Zimmerman Sales and Service sold Hudson , and Dan Smith Motors sold Kaiser and Frazer . I also asked if anyone knew the population that was listed on the Sunman highway sign . There were no responses , but you can still send me your answers if you know it . Thank you , George Klaserner for a great question last month !
This month ’ s question is , “ What was the Sunman American Legion originally used for ?” Send me an email with your answer !
Let me know about family milestones , vacations , or a little bit about Sunman and yourself . Share the good news with me at sunman @ goBEACONnews . com .

This year has gone by super fast . Our family did make it through the holidays without a hitch . We ventured into the woods and cut our Christmas tree down without a problem because I didn ’ t let my husband take the chain saw for the first time . This year we cut the tree down the good old fashion way with a hand saw .
I took my grandson Korben Carter to see the live nativity scene in Greendale . What a beautiful sight . I was explaining the three wise men to Korben and how they brought gifts to Baby Jesus for his birthday . Korben wanted to know what kind of presents Baby Jesus got . I got out of answering that question because it wasn ’ t Christmas yet and he hasn ’ t opened up any of his gifts .
A speedy recovery to Theresa Oelker . Theresa is the daughter of Estal and Wilma Dickerson of Greendale .
Condolences go out to the family of Kevin Lynch of Greendale . Dearborn County and Greendale will miss you , Kevin .
I have had several readers inquire about B . J ., my golden retriever . B . J . will be fifteen years old next summer . As long as I can get him to wag his tail and eat , I know he is doing well . B . J . is
B . J . happiest when he is going on walks and riding along with my husband in his truck . By the way , I just want to let you all know B . J .’ s real name is Bartholomew James . Thanks for asking about B . J .
Happy New Year to all of my Beacon Readers . Thank you for letting me know that you enjoy reading my column . I appreciate all of your feedback . Get in touch with me if you want any of your family activities in my articles Email me at greendale @ goBEACONnews . com .
