Three Area Schools
Compete in IHSWCA
Team State
Southeastern Indiana was
represented by three area
wrestling programs selected
by the Indiana High School
Wrestling Coaches’ Associa-
tion (IHSWCA) to compete
in the IHSWCA
Team State

while Milan

in the 1A division.
The event was held at Al-
len County War Memorial
[email protected]
Coliseum in Fort Wayne on
December 23. Being selected
to participate in this tourna-
ment is a prestigious honor
for these programs and rec-
ognizes them as being among
the top teams in the state of
Indiana based on school size
and places them in competi-
tion with other top teams from
around the state.
The Franklin County Wild-
cats, coached by Doug Deters,
finished the day 2-1. In the
first dual of the day, they
faced Wawasee, the even-
tual 2A champion, and were
defeated 54-19. The Wildcats
next dropped a close dual to
Bellmont 46-33. In their final
dual of the day, FC defeated
Indian Creek 31-30 to finish

tied for 9th place on the day.
Going undefeated individu-
ally on the day for the Wild-
cats were Dyllion Humbert
(145) and Stevie Browning
(152). Garrett Condo (126),
Logan Bohman (170), and
Michael Bohman (195) each
finished 2-1 on the day.
The Lawrenceburg Tigers,
coached by Mark Kirchgas-
sner, were not able to pull
off a team victory on the day
and finished tied for 11th
place. The first round saw
Lawrenceburg fall 59-14 to
North Montgomery and in the
second round 54-21 to Edge-
wood. The final round for the
Tigers was a 48-27 loss to
New Haven.
The Tigers were led on the
day with undefeated indi-
vidual performances by Grant
Stapleton (120) and Mason
Parris (220). Jonah Rolfes
(195) was 2-1 on the day in
individual action.
The Milan Indians, coached
by Adrian Wilburn, were
also unable to garner a team
win on the day to finish tied
for 11th. In their first dual
of the day, they fell to Attica
38-28. In their next dual they
lost a competitive dual with
eventual 1A champion Prairie
Heights 49-30 and finished
the day with another close
dual loss to Cass 46-35.
Garrett Condo (106) and
John Rohrig (195) finished the
day 3-0 individually. Going
2-1 on the day for the Indians
were Shane Lonneman (113),
Dylan Myers (126), Jacob
Rohrig (160), and Brayden
Bruce (285).

Local Prep Football
Players Earn IFCA
All-State Honors
Several area football play-
ers were recently honored
by being named to all-state
teams of the Indiana Football
Coaches’ Association (IFCA).
Topping the honors was
three-sport all-state athlete
Mason Parris of the Law-
renceburg Tigers. After
being named as a 3A all-state
football recipient in both his
sophomore and junior sea-
sons, Parris was named as a
linebacker to the prestigious
list of the IFCA Top 50 Play-
ers. This list recognizes the
top 50 players from across all
levels of school size through-
out the state.
The IHSAA 4A state cham-
pion East Central Trojans
saw several athletes claim 4A
IFCA All-State distinction.
Senior all-state honors were
earned by tight end Justin
Brown, running back Logan
Storie, linebacker Tanner
Yocum, and defensive back
Nathan Lloyd. Also being
