Hood NWAC Cypress CCCAA-So.Cal Fresno City CCCAA-No.Cal During the Week: #1 San Joaquin started their three game series vs. Diablo Valley on 4/14 with a win 8-2. Game two was played on 4/16 with San Joaquin winning 7-0. The win clinched the Big 8 Championship. #2 Palomar began their three game series vs. Grossmont on 4/14 beating them 8-0. They followed with a game two 4-2 win on 4/16. Trailing 1-2 going into the top of the 9th inning, Palomar rallied for three runs to take the lead 4-2 and the final score. #3 Mt. Hood met up with Concordia JV on 4/15 and won 8-7. Concordia made a run in the top of the 9 th scoring three runs but fell one short. #4 Cypress played two week day games. On 4/14 the battled Riverside coming out on top 8-7. On 4/16 they had a home game vs. Santa Ana defeating them 12-1. #5 Fresno City took on COS, 4/14, and won a shootout 14-10. Weekend Play: #1 San Joaquin finished their three game series with Diablo on 4/17 with a three game sweep winning 1-0. #2 Palomar took game three of the series vs. Grossmont on 4/17. #3 Mt. Hood took on Southwestern Oregon for four games over the weekend. On 4/17, Mt Hood played two close games - winning game one in 11 innings 2-1. Even though starter Seth Rayburn went 9 innings, striking out 11 and only 1BB, he had to give way to Chase Wiger who threw the last two innings and got the win when Mt. Hood scored in the bottom of the 11 th. They lost game two in another close one 0-1. On 4/18 the two teams met again for their second doubleheader. And again they split. Mt Hood won game on 9-0 and lost game two 3-4. #4 Cypress met Santa Ana again on 4/17 and ran into a buzz saw losing 18-5. #5 Fresno City had a bad weekend losing to Reedley on 4/18 by the score of 4-8. Then on 4/19 losing to Taft 3-4.
