SECTION UPDATE SECTION UPDATE The Tax Law Section is excited to kick off the new fiscal year and will be hosting a number of CLE seminars and network- ing events in the upcoming year. Upcoming Luncheon TAX LAW WORKERS' COMPENSATION Joint Summer Reception To kick off the year, the Tax Law Section hosted its annual Joint Summer Reception with the Georgia Society of CPAs at the Park Tavern in Piedmont Park on August 17, 2017. The evening mixer hosted approximately 50 attorneys and ac- countants for drinks and hor d’oeurves, allowing attendees to meet new members and catch up with old friends. 14th Annual Atlanta Estate Planning Forum The Workers’ Compensation Section is hosting a lunch fea- turing speakers Ben Gerber and Mike Rossetti at the Capital City Club on November 16. The Forum is co-sponsored with the Estate Planning & Probate Section and will feature guest speaker Christopher Hoyt, Professor of Law at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law and former Chair of the American Bar Association's Committee on Charitable Organizations (Sec- tion of Trusts and Estates). Annual Liaison Committee Meeting Next, the Tax Law Section will also be co-sponsoring the an- nual Liaison Committee Meeting with the Georgia Depart- ment of Revenue on December 7, 2017. The annual Liaison Committee Meeting will provide practitioners updates from the Department of Revenue followed by a Q&A session. The meeting will be moderated by Frank O’Connell, General Counsel for the Department of Revenue, Richard C. Litwin of The Litwin Law Firm, P.C., and Mace E.
