SECTION UPDATE Judicial Section By The Hon. Sara Doyle Georgia Court of Appeals T he Judicial Section is up and running this year, with a full slate of events. On September 11, in conjunction with the National Association of Women Judge’s, the section hosted a Constitution Day program at Therrell High School. On Friday, October 3, the section held its first lunch in Midtown at Gordon Biersch with speaker, Chief Justice Hugh Thompson and on October 10, it is co-hosting a breakfast with the Litigation Section. of the State Bar of Georgia, hosting its second section lunch in March with featured speaker Judge Ben Studdard, and awarding its Romae Turner Powell Judicial Service award at a lunch and awards ceremony on April 30, 2015. If you know of a Judge (does not need to be a member) that is worthy of receiving the award, please submit nominations to Karen English, Sections Coordinator at [email protected] by October 31, 2014.
