AVLF Winetasting 23RD ANNUAL AVLF WINETASTING E ach year, the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation’s Winetasting celebrates the Atlanta legal community’s commitment to pro bono service. the Winetasting generated $485,000 for AVLF’s pro bono programs that promote equal access to justice for the lowincome residents of Atlanta. On November 6, the 23rd Annual Winetasting took place at the World of Coca-Cola, a fabulous event space and museum with a variety exhibits that show the evolution of the Coca-Cola Company. Guests enjoyed champagne, white and red wines, and three liquors donated through United Distributors, and the evening was catered by A Divine Event. Of particular interest to many who attended was The World of Coca-Cola’s Taste-It! Room, where guests had the opportunity to experiment with the combination of whiskeys and soft drinks from around the world. (Who knew that Tennessee whiskey and Coke’s Thai Habu went so well together?) The Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, Inc., was created in 1979 through the joint efforts of the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Atlanta Council of Younger Lawyers, and the Gate City Bar Association to offer lawyers an opportunity to provide civil legal representation for the poor. Since then, AVLF has provided representation for indigent clients through the efforts of volunteer private attorneys, its student clinical program, and various outreach programs.
