Songs on a er are one thing, and songs in a room full of
musicians and friends are another. Sometimes the music a
band ma es is greater than the sum of its arts, and when
that ha ens, it s trul s ecial. It s also exciting to now
how far and wide our songs can s read, how the have
lives of their own. For exam le, last wee , I got an email
from a Dutch gu who bought m former band s CD, on a
whim, in a record sho in Berlin, and blogged about it I have
no idea how it got there, or how to translate his article, but
nowing that he found it and en o ed it is a rett ama ing
feeling regardless.

songwriter, and he s eloquent, humble and good-natured - a
disarming and affecting combination if there ever was one.
