Truancy Intervention Project TIP Hosts a Successful Holiday Gift Giving Season! By Caren Cloud Truancy Intervention Project of Georgia [email protected] O nce again, the generosity of Atlanta’s legal community has resulted in a wonderful season of giving to benefit the children and families involved with the Truancy Intervention Project (TIP) Georgia. With the support of attorneys and legal staff from various law firms in Atlanta as well as attorneys in private practice, approximately 80 families (totaling approximately 370 individuals) received much needed clothing, toys, bikes and games this holiday season. TIP extends a gracious thank you to all of the generous supporters of TIP who once again made the holiday season a special time for so many deserving families in the community. Each year, TIP hosts a Holiday Adoption program that is supported by the wonderful attorneys and staff of Alston & Bird, LLP, Oldcastle Law, Martenson, Hasbrouck & Simon, Troutman Sanders, the Atlanta Law Libraries Association, Gate City Bar Association and the Special Libraries Association of Georgia. Children and their families submit a wishlist and TIP’s gracious volunteer “elves” act as Santa’s helpers to make the wishes of the children involved with TIP come true. In addition to the Holiday Adoption program, TIP sponsors a Holiday Party at which holiday stockings are given to all school age children who attend. The stockings are donated by the attorneys and support staff of Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan who dedicate long hours of arranging and stuffing the stockings with school supplies, toys and other needed items. 22 THE ATLANTA LAWYER TIP Board Chair/Santa and Adwoa Awotwi thank Jackson Healthcare for their gracious donations.
