SECTION UPDATE SOLE PRACTITIONER/SMALL FIRM The Sole Practitioner/Small Firm Section – “At- lanta’s largest law firm” – continues to provide its members with timely and interesting presentations designed to benefit practitioners of all stripes and levels of experience – seasoned and less seasoned transactional attorneys, civil litigators, family law- yers, criminal defense attorneys, workers’ com- pensation attorneys, and those who handle “all of the above”. Our October lunch speaker, Sonia Lakhany, shared marketing tips – how to create a “wow” factor – to a packed house. Many of us left with a list of steps to take to refresh our respective practices. In November, we offered members an opportu- nity to learn more about volunteer opportunities with Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta, and we also explored practice management solutions with rep- resentatives of PriceWaterhouse Coopers. We will start the year with January presentations on networking – creating a personal brand – and on learning to identify and align skills and person- ality traits in yourself and your potential partners and employees so as to maximize achievement of business goals. If you are interested in becoming involved in our Section, please join us for breakfast at the Buckhead Club the third Thursday of the month, and/or for lunch the fourth Thursday of the month. We are going to experiment with some new lunch locations, so be sure to check the location when you register for an event! Please feel free to contact me or one of our Board members if you are interested in becoming in- volved in our Section. By Mari Myer The Myer Law Firm [email protected] WE’VE EXPANDED OUR TEAM.
