BANKRUPTCY
The Bankruptcy Section hosted its Annual Fall
Social on October 18, 2018, at Venkman’s. Over 60
section members attended and enjoyed the oppor-
tunity to meet and greet the newest members of the
Northern District of Georgia bankruptcy bench, the
Honorable Jeffery W. Cavender and the Honorable
Sage M. Sigler.
The Bankruptcy Section also hosted its Bankruptcy
Section Breakfast on November 8, 2018, at the offic-
es of Arnall Golden Gregory. The breakfast included
a presentation by Elizabeth B. Rose, Partner at the
law firm of Caiola & Rose, LLC, entitled, “Intersec-
tion of Franchise and Bankruptcy Law.”
Registration is now open for the next Bankruptcy
Section Breakfast, which will take place on Thurs-
day, January 17, 2019, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
The event will be held at the offices of Alston &
Bird. The breakfast will include a presentation by
Nathan Juster, an attorney with the Home Defense
Program at the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, entitled,
“Home Loss Mitigation – Loan Modifications and
More.” We hope you will be able to join us.

Please save the date for the following events.
• The Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Year in Review
CLE program will be held on Friday, February 8,
2019, at the Capital City Club Downtown.

• The Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal Sym-
posium will be held on February 21, 2019, at Tull
Auditorium, Emory University School of Law,
Atlanta, GA.
• The Bankruptcy Section 2019 David W. Pollard Award
& Spring CLE Program will be held on May 16, 2019,
at the Ansley Golf Club.
