SECTION UPDATE
JUDICIAL
Continuing Judicial Education Program
FOLLOW US ON
In October 2017, the Judicial Section held a Con-
tinuing Judicial Education program on “Providing
Language Access to Courts.” Our speaker was Attorney
Jana Edmondson-Cooper. She is an expert on the
topic and routinely presents to judges regarding best
practices on this subject. Ms. Edmondson-Cooper’s
presentation was both interesting and enlightening.
Co-Hosting
The Judicial Section will be co-hosting a program
with the Atlanta Bar Association’s Litigation Section
and the Truancy Intervention Project of Georgia on
the evening of April 12, 2018. The program seeks
to provide insight on the responsibilities of the
job of Judicial Staff Attorney to currently enrolled
metro-area law students. The panel of speakers will
be comprised of a number of judges from varying
classifications of court, as well as, several lawyers
from the Litigation Section, who previously served
as judicial staff attorneys.

The program will be held at the Fulton County
Board of Commissioners Hall, 141 Pryor Street SW,
Atlanta, Georgia 30303. Additional details will be
forthcoming at the appropriate time. We are excited
about this event and hope for high attendance from
judges and attorneys, in addition to members of
our target audience!
