The Wonders of LSOC By Caren Cloud Fulton County Juvenile Court Caren.Cloud@fulton- countyga.gov The Law School Outreach Commit- tee (LSOC) increased law student membership to over 600 in-state and out-of-state law student mem- bers this year. LSOC supported students and the Atlanta Bar lead- ership pipeline by holding monthly committee meetings and focusing on the unique needs of each school by including law school liaisons for Emory School of Law, Georgia State University College of Law, John Marshall Law School, Mercer University School of Law, and Uni- versity of Georgia of Law. [email protected] law schools throughout the school year to register new members and to support existing members along with on-campus events. In March, the LSOC, in partnership with the Atlanta Bar Judicial and Litigation Sections, coordinated the judicial panel, “A View From the Bench” at the Georgia State University College of Law. The panel allowed law students an opportu- nity to interact meaningfully with judges, and learn how to acquire excellent results for clients during the trial and appellate stages of a case. Lastly, committee members provided Georgia law students end- of-the-school-year “Good Luck” treat bags during finals and wrote articles for The Atlanta Lawyer to provide law students guidance on network- ing and job hunting.
