T
he marquis event of our Section every year is our
Advanced Employment Law seminar. This year, the
seminar was held on March 27, 2015 at the Capital
City Club. We had terrific panels of speakers that presented
on highly informative and educational topics. Over 100
people attended the seminar.
As this may be my last message before the end of my term
as Chair of the Section, I thought I would reflect on this past
year and talk about my excitement for the coming year. We
have had an exciting year of activities in our Section. In
addition to our regular luncheons and Happy Hours, we had
an enormously successful event commemorating the 50th
anniversary of the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
featuring Mayor Kasim Reed in November of last year. More
recently, we had interesting and informative joint breakfasts
with the Intellectual Property Law Section, as well as the
Dispute Resolution Section of
the Atlanta Bar.

Secretary/Treasurer Adriana Midence Scott. Thank you
again for the opportunity to serve all of you.

or participating in Section activities, please get in touch. We
would love to have you.
Once again, our Section is most gracious to SullivanStrickler
and Huseby Court Reporting for serving as sponsors of the
Section. You are a vital part of making these meetings and
events possible for our members.
I want to thank the other officers
of the Section, the Board, as
well as all of the members for
making this a fantastic year. As
a Section, we branched out into
several new programs, which
I believe broadened the scope
and appeal of the Section to its
members. I thoroughly enjoyed
serving as Chair of the Section
and look forward to continuing
my involvement with the Section
in the future.
I know that the Section will be in
great hands with my good friend
Craig Cleland, who will serve as
Chair of the Section next year.
Craig is not only one of the best
lawyers I know, but he is also
one of the finest human beings.
The Section will be well served
