Yasemin Omer was born in Baghdad, Iraq.
She studied art, graduating with a degree in
Fine Arts in 1971. Having lived in Baghdad,
Prague, Sweden and London, she has
participated in many art exhibitions. This work
led to a number of commissions for elaborate
mosaic work on buildings in Sweden. She is also
a devoted member of the Sutton Arts Council.
Yasemin’s style synthesises remnants of her
memories of Iraq with mystical and enchanting
elements, to captivate the audience with her
stories.
