He is a consistent advocate for amateurism and
free emotional expression. The critic Neal
Brown described Childish as “one of the most

for their tireless work standing up for citizens of many ethnic and
religious backgrounds who have been bullied and terrorised in their
own countries by their own states. Organisations like CARA offer a
benchmark of humanity and a voice to oppressed people who deserve
to enjoy the freedoms we are lucky enough to take for granted,
but shouldn’t.
