As people may be aware the Laguna Rug brand sources it’s materials from Nepal. What kind of influence’s does Nepal
bring to the product?
The influences are in the craftsmanship and skill of the Nepali weavers.
The age old tradition of Nepali rug-weaving is the main element to the timelessness of each hand-made rug.
Each stage of the rug production goes through a time consuming process from the early point of shearing the sheep and
washing the wool then drying the wool naturally.
Carding the wool and then spinning into the yarn ready for weaving.
A standard spec rug can take one of our weavers to hand-knot between 10 and 11cm a day, their technique is also done at a
fast pace, even I as a trained weaver find hard to replicate.
