36 MODERN ELEGANCE NICK AND ALISHA HAVE TEAMED TIMELESS CABINETRY WITH CONTEMPORARY COOL IN THEIR LONDON HOME After working on a variety of conversions and refurbishments for clients, architect Nick Horvath was itching to work on a project of his own. So when he and his wife, Alisha Bignell, a customer care manager, stumbled across a rather battered Victorian flat above an old shop in south west London, they saw something that other buyers probably didn’t – an opportunity to create two well-proportioned homes. “It was perfect, in a great location close to the Tube, with an untouched loft space with a 3-metre floor to ceiling height,” recalls Nick. “I could see immediately that it had great potential.”
