A FAMILY HOUSE, ST GEORGE’S HILL
Located on a private estate in St George’s Hill, Weybridge, opposite the
famous golf course, this 8 bedroom house is comprised of a galleried grand
reception hall, drawing room, study, breakfast room, family room, kitchen,
pantry, utility room, boot room, club room/bar, wine store and cinema.
The owners wanted a personalised space that reflected their taste and the
beautiful natural surroundings. The property is a large space, so our aim was
to design a scheme that would look beautiful and make the inhabitants feel
good and comfortable in it. We achieved this with a combination of clean
lines, natural, organic elements, sumptuous textures and artisanal pieces for
a feeling of comfort, warmth and harmony within a luxurious setting.
The brief from the client was to create an interior design of understated
elegance; a timeless scheme with longevity that they will not tire of. The house
is in the country in a beautiful location surrounded by a 1.5 acre garden and
overlooking a golf course. The owners wanted us to reflect the rural elements
in a sophisticated way. As such, our concept was inspired by nature.
We kept the colour palette neutral and natural, layering natural materials and
juxtaposing organic shapes with clean lines in order to create a scheme that
would blend and complement their different tastes, as well as the stunning
location.
