107 Industrial Revolution heritage… Drawing inspiration directly from the original “Spinning Jenny” textile machine in the 1700s created in Lancashire, this restaurant and bar located in Manchester Airport truly embraces the world of classic, yet modern furniture design. The rows of Tagg stools and benches provided by furniture supplier UHS Group have been paired with work bench style tables, and the exposed brick walls bring an elegant touch of the old textile mills of Northern England in the Industrial Revolution. Chairs from UHS Group’s spindle-back range (Lena, Hula, and Tarantella) contribute to the artisanal, crafted, and quality feel of a bygone era. The Mel chair and butcher-block table tops make “The Spinning Jenny” look contemporary and sophisticated, as do the touches of colour splashed around the space. www.uhs-group.com 14 Dramatic display Smart Fire UK part of £1M renovation at Hoar Cross Hall When the historic Hoar Cross Hall Spa Hotel wanted to restore its magnificent fireplaces, they turned to Smart Fire UK. However, with the chimneys and flues blocked up, they had to turn to alternative methods and called in Smart Fire UK, the country’s sole distributor of bio-ethanol EcoSmart fires. These green fires are fuelled entirely by bio-ethanol, a clean burning liquid, which means they need no chimney, flue or extraction system. They were the perfect fit for Hoar Cross Hall. The EcoSmart burners were fitted into the existing fireplaces with additional brass and marble surrounds incorporated into the designs. 13 In addition to supplying six fires for the restoration project, Smart Fire UK also supplied the hotel with two freestanding fires which can be moved around to suit the hotels requirements.
