Club Notices

Club Moorings Available
The Club is currently seeking expressions of interest from members who may wish to occupy a Club mooring . The Club moorings are situated in front of the marina and north of the breakwall (“ G ” arm ) and currently the Club has available mooring number 7 ( suitable for a 45 ’ -50 ’ vessel ) and mooring number 16 ( suitable for a 50 ’ - 60 ’ vessel ). If you are interested please contact the Waterfront Department , email waterfront @ rpayc . com . au or telephone ( 02 ) 9998 3741 . The Club has available one standard ($ 60 p / m ) and one large locker ($ 70 p / m ) in Moonbar building . These new lockers are well ventilated and lit and are secure through CCTV and card access control .
Welcome to Andrew Thomas
The Waterfront Department would like to extend a warm welcome to Andrew Thomas who started in the Waterfront Department . As well as a love for being on water , Andrew brings to the Club a raft of experience ( 30 years ) including ; building , carpentry , horticulture and tiling , just to name a few , so we have no doubt that we will be able to put his extensive experience to work around the Club and grounds . Andrew has replaced Brett who recently left our maintenance team to return to the building industry . Andrew has been appointed in a general capacity and will be on the marina to assist members and will also work with Dan and Gary with Club and grounds projects . Andrew ’ s working week will be from Tuesday to Saturday .
Leashed Dogs
While well behaved , leashed dogs are welcome at the club , owners MUST remain with their dogs at all times and clean up after them .
RPAYC Centreboard Sailors compete
against the world
Good luck to Antony Hawke , Nathan Bryant and brothers Boston and Logan Cortis who will be representing The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club competing against 400 sailors from 36 Countries at the 2016 Laser 4.7 Youth Championships in Germany next month .
On-site Training Courses
Winter is a great opportunity to refresh your navigation skills and on-water training . Above and Beyond Boating provide excellent training courses and are based on-site at the RPAYC . This weekend there are spaces remaining on a Sea Survival Course . Man overboard Masterclass . 21st July , $ 25 per person . VHF radio and Essential Navigation ready to start immediately . 100 years of service to the RPAYC
Congratulations to John and Marilyn Morris who have reached 100 combined years of service , this year . The only other couple to reach this milestone were Rex and Florence Hunt .
RPAYC Communications
To keep RPAYC Members up to date with what ’ s happening with the Club and other sailing news , management spreads the word across digital and print publications . Below is a little summary of the Club ’ s communications and where you can access them . Website www . rpayc . com . au The Club ’ s website is the central hub of the Club ’ s communications and contains information about events , news , history , achievements and much more . Most of the communications which are sent are linked back to the website . The Club also has subsidiary websites for special events , these include : HARKEN International Youth Match Racing Regatta Pittwater Sail Expo Alfred ’ s News – Monthly Publication This publication covers what ’ s happening in and around the RPAYC . From upcoming events to member achievements and general notices across all areas of the Club . This publication is sent to Members via email in PDF and E-Book format . There are also colour printed copies at Reception . To view past publications , they are uploaded onto the website under the Publications page . Alfred ’ s Updates – Weekly Update This email is sent each week on a Friday and is a short overview of what ’ s happening at the Club . Please Note : The Club used to send an email called On The Breeze which was a social events based email . This email communication has now been made redundant by this weekly email . Alfred ’ s Yachtsman – Yearly Publication It is a printed publication sent to all Members which is a summary of the sailing year . It is posted to all members and is also emailed in an E-Book format . Previous editions can be found on the website under Publications . Social Media The Club utilizes Twitter , Facebook and Instagram . The RPAYC Facebook page is the main channel of the Club ’ s Social Media communications . Social Media allows you to view members achievements from around the world . Facebook is also used to promote events . Club Announcements These announcements are sent via email and are only used for important Club messages . Limited promotional material will be sent under this name . Alfred ’ s SMS communications The Club sends out SMS notifications to Members about important information and upcoming events . The Club also uses this SMS system for times of concern . For example , notifying Members about a potential storm forecast .
