A corrupt system can never be fixed, but has to be discarded all together for a new clean one to take effect

When a government is characterised by corruption and embezzlement of funds, the leaders [and their] officers will always make ire. They "up" their game whenever they see efforts to curb that. These are the same culprits who have access and control to state resources. They can use that to frustrate all the efforts made to fight such ill practices. This is where bribery takes over; the police, judiciary, politicians and anyone who could drive the fight against this will be given an offer and not all can refuse some offers.

Finding Solutions...

We have to teach our people to watch out for opportunists. Opposition [parties] that only exist to take advantage of people's desperation for change. That opposition only exists to take power and be a replica of the corrupt one that the people just condemned. In Botswana they were once quoted saying "it's our time to eat".

Once a system is corrupt, it is not easy to fix because there is no one who would wish to see his/her source of wealth being taken away from them. We have leaders who are more concerned with accumulating wealth for themselves and their families at the expense of the nation. This has set a bad precedence for the youth, with some now tending to turn to those ill practices of corruption in order to belong in the circle of these leaders. Corruption can only be uprooted from its roots and that means getting rid of the whole system and those who made it the way it is.
