Pictured above are two bass (the same two) held by team mates Brett and Brendan during a recent Mashonaland Angling League
competition held at Biri Dam north of Harare.
The fish were caught on spinnerbait between 0600 and 0615, weighed and released within 30 minutes. Brett’s fish weighed in at just
under 13 pounds and Brendan’s (blue shirt) at nine pounds. The dam was fishing well and Brendan reports he also caught a 3kg nillie
and a few good mellies.

Thought you might be interested in this amazing catch my husband,
Byron Calvert got in Komatipoort Dam, South Africa. Up until
two months ago this was the SA record for a tigerfish apparently.
It weighed 9kg.

Dear Editor
I enjoy your magazine. I am a member of Hippo Valley
Boating & Angling Club in Chiredzi and we fish in Lake
Mteri. I have attached photos of my catch in the lake and
wonder if they could be published in your magazine. The
bass weighed 4.5kg and I caught it on a Junebug lizard.
