Unlike conventional hard plastic top-water baits, soft plastic frogs are relatively weedless with their upward facing hooks pushed alongside the back of the lure - perfect for throwing into timber and thick weed. Like all top-water fishing, it is important to remember not to rush to strike. Instead, wait a few seconds for the fish to turn until you feel the tension on the line... then set the hook. Too many times anglers strike as soon as the fish hits the lure - this doesn’t allow enough time for the hooks to come into contact with the mouth.
