Head To The High Country (Boone)
The Boone area is packed with incedible bouldering and the higher elevations make for more enjoyable summer weather
conditions for climbing. With plenty of options to choose from it can be hard to decide where to throw down the pads
for a session, but we like the Linville area including Grandmother Boulders, Lost Cove, 221 areas and Beacon Heights
thanks to the incredible stone quality, beautiful high elevation views of Grandfather Mountain and the Linville Gorge, as
well as the high elevation forests.
Directions from Asheville: From downtown take Merrimon Ave. N 2 miles. Turn right on Beaverdam Rd at Ingles grocery
store and head out Beaverdam Rd. for 1 mile to Elk Mountain Scenic Highway on the left.
