ABOUT THE ADVENTURE COLLECTIVE
We are The Adventure Collective and these pages are Base Camp for your next Appalachian adventure! We are
a group of passionate, local-adventurers who are stoked on the boundless opportunities our beloved Blue Ridge Moun-
tains offer beginners and experts alike. Our ancient mountains are the perfect canvas for the art of your adventure. Our
ridgelines are towering, our waters are turbulent and our trails are legendary! We want you to thoroughly enjoy your
time in Western North Carolina and no matter what your idea of a perfect adventure is, our mission is to guide you to it!
The learning curve for outdoor adventures is steeper than our mountains. Venturing out into the wilderness can be
intimidating and downright dangerous. However, with the right skillset and knowhow, your time here will be the greatest
time of your life. We want you to thrive on your adventure and inside this guide, we give you the rundown of where to
go, how to get there and how to make the most out of your next trip. Each trip report includes a brief description of the
adventure and detailed driving directions to the trailhead. We also give you hard-earned pro-tips on some of the skills
necessary to approach, enjoy and document an array of outdoor adventures with the confidence of an expert.
For us, celebrating our area’s bounty of adventure is paramount. Our pursuit of adventure has shaped the very fabric of
