going all out on stage and creating an experience for my
audience, mi bring energy to everything I do! Meaning, till one inspires a concept, hook or a melody or
all of the above.
What makes you feel sexy?
Music and a hot outfit that enhances mi assets. (Laughs). What artists do you listen to, and what is your guilty
pleasure song?
Right now, Kendrick Lamar is lit and refreshing to mi ears
with DAMN. Humble. love.
His collective concept for his latest release DAMN is
sooooo Dope! Don’t think mi have a guilty pleasure song
right now, but Probably Goosebumps by Travis Scott.
What inspires your music?
Life experiences and the experiences of others, the world
through my eyes.
Do you cook? And if so, what types of foods do you cook?
I do cook, but I’m vegan. I can cook just about anything.
Mi juice most of mi fruit and steam a lot of vegetables,
carrot, cabbage and such. Mostly mi enjoy baking vegan
cakes and brownies, even though I’m training right now.
What was your first professional job and besides music,
do you have any other talents?
I was a child actress on a HBO Television Series. That was
my first real job. The other professional skill I have is
DJing. I am also known as “DJ ILL NANA” internationally.
Do you smoke or drink?
I do not smoke (I respect my vocal gift), but I do drink
occasionally.
What do you like to do in the studio to set the vibe?
Mi like to chill under the LED’s in low lighting and just
vibe out to different tracks till one catches mi attention
What advice would you give to new artists trying to get
into Dancehall?
The advice I’d give to any Artist is to be Original. Learn to
write, produce and record yourself, if you can, so no one
can limit your creativity. Focus on your goal and remove
all negative distractions from your path, even if they’re
family members. Yeah, I said it. Family and so-called
friends are not always in your corner and that’s bad for
an Artist when we value their opinions. It’s not even their
fault. They are just ordinary people who do not have the
vision, until you create it for them. That’s why you must
break free of their simple judgments and focus on
reaching your full potential of being extraordinary.
