Aligning Our Actions with Our Values
An emerging area of focus for our businesses is unconscious bias — learned stereotypes that may
influence our behavior and decision-making at work. “Embracing a Culture of Inclusion,” a Cox
Communications leadership development program, addresses unconscious bias and teaches
participants strategies for counteracting these beliefs. Within Cox Automotive, roughly three
quarters of people managers underwent training on unconscious bias, emotional intelligence and
crucial conversations in 2017, and the business will continue to expand training offerings.
Diversity Partners
Cox has five national diversity partners, all of whom are strong advocates for minorities and focus on
personal empowerment and development. In Atlanta, Cox also supports a variety of organizations
focused on diversity, including 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Special Olympics Georgia, Bobby Dodd
Institute, Atlanta Pride, Latin American Association, Girls Inc., YWCA Greater Atlanta, The Atlanta
Women’s Foundation and Asian-Americans Advancing Justice Atlanta.
