COX CONSERVES The Power of Partnerships We magnify the impact of our Cox Conserves initiatives through our close collaboration with multiple nonprofit partners. These nongovernmental organizations are our national partners, but Cox cultivates relationships with hundreds of other partners at the local level. American Rivers American Rivers is the leading conservation organization working to leave a legacy of healthy rivers. Cox CEO Alex Taylor is a former board chair of American Rivers, and this has been an enduring partnership for many years. The organization and its more than 275,000 supporters work to restore damaged rivers to improve flows, support wildlife habitat and conserve water. Cox is a proud sponsor of National River Cleanup®. Since its inception in 1991, the program has engaged more than 1.3 million volunteers, covering more than 250,000 miles of waterways and removing more than 25 million pounds of litter and debris. Cox employees volunteer their time at select locations around the country each year to pick up trash and debris to make a cleaner environment for the community. Ocean Conservancy The Trust for Public Land The Trust for Public Land (TPL) is a national nonprofit land conservation organization that protects parks, community gardens, historic sites, rural lands and other natural places, ensuring livable communities for generations to come. Together with TPL, Cox Enterprises created Cox Conserves Heroes, a national awards program to honor volunteers who help preserve outdoor spaces in our local communities. 26 Informed by science, Ocean Conservancy guides policy and engages people in protecting our oceans and their wildlife for future generations. Cox is a sponsor of Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup. In 2017 alone, nearly 800,000 volunteers from Cox and other organizations collectively removed more than 20 million pieces of trash from beaches and waterways around the world. In 2017, Cox expanded our partnership when we joined the Trash Free Seas Alliance. The Alliance is devoted to protecting our oceans and wildlife for future generations by helping remove the vast amount of plastics and other contaminants from our oceans.
