The outside stage features the Texas Gypsies performing from 2:303pm and you better stay put because the Men's Raw Oyster Eating Contest starts at 3pm! Saturday night at Oysterfest it’s a Bandapalooza starting at 4pm with Jason Allen! And that’s just the start. This line-up of musical entertainment will keep you frolicking until midnight. Performer, Jason Allen takes the stage at 4pm and plays until 6pm. This boy was standing on honky-tonk bar stools and stages, strumming on his six-string and singing songs before he learned to write cursive. Wait until you see what he’s got in store for you. Darrell McCall follows and plays until 8pm. McCall has worked as a harmony singer with such artists as George Jones, Faron Young, Freddie Hart, Carl Smith and Ray Price. He joined Price as a member of his Cherokee Cowboys and later joined the bands of both Faron Young and Hank Williams Jr.; it just keeps getting better when Gene and Darren Brown start playing at 8pm. Darrin and Gene Brown formed their own band, when they were still teenagers and have played in clubs all over South Texas, opening for numerous country stars, including Ricky Skaggs, Randy Travis, and Merle Haggard. This really is a night not to be missed. From 10pm-midnight Matt Wayne with Charlee Mykels perform for the evening’s finale. One part bottle-shooting southern rocker, and one part Texas-raised songsmith, topped off with the burn of homemade shine, Wayne’s ability to rock while still being country is almost as impressive as his ability to wink w
