TACHE: PLAINS REGIONAL REP
Position: Assistant Director of Safety Net (Texas Tech University -
East Lubbock Promise Neighborhood)
Years in TACHE: 1 year
Why you joined TACHE: I joined TACHE because I like what it
stands for. I find life rewarding knowing that I am a part of an
organization that strives to improve the lives of Latinas/os in the
United States, especially those involved with Higher Education. I
feel a sense of pride and accomplishment, knowing I have made
my life's mission that of being of service to others especially those individuals who are often
overlooked, underrepresented, underserved or simply discriminated against.
Why you encourage others to join: I would highly encourage other Latinos to attend because
existence and worth is still unequal in the State of Texas and in the United States. We must
work together to improve the educational and employment opportunities of nuestra gente
and TACHE works daily and diligently at accomplishing this quest.

Why you encourage others to join: Although we’ve made progress, we still have much more to
accomplish in the education, legislative and legal arenas. We must continue to advocate for
equity and to serve as the voice for our community. .
