TQA elects new
SG Officers

T
he Quantum Academy, Inc. elected the new set of Student
Government(SG) officers for SY 2014-2015, February 21.
The most sought-after position of presidency was battled over
by the top students of next year’s senior class: Keziah Acharon (IGNITE
party), Jose Cahilsot (LOTS party), Paula Alcasid (Independent), and
Adah Rafael (Independent). However, among these aspirants, it was
Acharon who pelted the highest office in the student government amassing nearly over twice the votes of the candidate who came next.
Meanwhile, only two 8th graders from sections A and B ran for
the office of vice president - Roma Bartolome (IGNITE) and Leanne
Morales (LOTS). It was a close fight between the two candidates,
Morales only winning by a very thin margin.
As for the secretariat position, two students from the grade 9
class and an eighth grader ran for the said office namely: Bianca Aquino (IGNITE), Dwayne Cabel
(LOTS), and Cherish Blando (Independent). Out of
the three candidates, it was Aquino who was named
secretary.
On the other hand, a rematch was witnessed
between the two former rivals - John Rafael
(IGNITE) and Aaron Du (Independent) for the
position of treasurer. Du won the previous school
year, but Rafael won this year after much help from
his party - garnering nearly twice the votes of his
competitor.
Ria Constantino (LOTS), a grade 9 student
and Inigo Aquino (IGNITE), a grade 7 student,
fought for the position of auditor. In the end, it
was the older candidate that emerged victorious.
Several students politicked for the
position of class representative in their respective
classes. The triumphant candidates were Rhino
Llido for grade 10, Kristia Pimentel for grade 9B,
Seth Alegado for grade 9A, Jessa Lumawag for
grade 8B, and Gian Regollo for grade 8A.
