Part of Me
Stay?
by: Bianca Aquino
by: Keziah Acharon
We shared the same blood and body
Parted ways on the day of 270
Does it say anymore
We may not be twins
If the water’s crashing to the shore?
But we’ve stayed together ever since Or when the sun sets, the sun rises
and I’m with you no more?

Love, despite of…
by: Mia Ruiz
There once was a boy,
who fell in love with a girl
His name was Troy
and her name was Pearl
She took care of me while
I’d awake in tears,
I was in her womb
Wonder who’d listen to my confession of fears
Raised me to be the person
They fell in love with each other,
But darling, I’d escape the call of fate
If you were to disappear
I am today
But didn’t tell their father
She never forgets to pray,
They were banned to see each other,
I’d shout to the skies,
To ask for God’s guidance
Yet, they could never love another
For you to hear all my cries
every step of the way
But will you hear me darling?
Mother, mama or mommy
But with faith in each other, they never
I promise, I’d yell a thousand times
She’s very special to me
gave up
The moon will call you by your name
I always want her to be happy
It’s just love, working on a broken cup
and so will I,
And she’ll always be a part of me
It taught them to hold on,
But will you promise
Despite the difficulty they were on
To listen to my voice?
You’d save me - and I, you
But that was long before
You’ve gone
and I, knowing not where
Wings
by: Kerenh Acharon
I have asked the stars,
Asked them where you are
They all said you’re long gone
Gone, gone into the night
A little bird told me that he could fly
With his long wings he could
soar up in the sky
But before we said our final goodbyes
He told me a story that made me cry
And that was when
I remembered
The roses I placed
atop your grave
He was old and gray
On the ground he wanted to lay
But one last time, he said, I want to fly
I knew he could do it for he was sly
He was about to give up
But I told him not to stop
If he wanted to soar,
He could do more
This managed to make me weep
Weep, because I forgot,
The man in a suit,
the man who has sailed away
Love is full of surprises,
It can take you to different places
Like Troy and Pearl, whose love was complex,
They still loved each other, knowing not
what comes next
The Family Creed
by: Inigo Aquino
But darling, will you stay?
Even just for a minute, a second, a day?
Because if there’s one thing
I have not said, but must say,
I am a member of a god-fearing
and loving family, this I say
i will defend my clan, come what may
Water is sweet, but blood is thicker
To my name, I will bring
glory, praise, and honor
We have watched the sunset,
And I have watched you drift away,
What is sunshine, and what is rain,
If you were to go away?
So darling,
Stay?
I will not abandon it, but I will keep my trust
I will take care of it with all my heart
I will love my family through thick and thin
I will be their strength in overpowering
hardships and difficulties
He thought it was better to stay
For it was only cowardice
that made him want to go away
Yet after much persuasion,
He found that he had enough determination
And so he thanks me at the end of the day
Saying it was me who pushed him
all the way
And now he was about to fly,
It’s time to bid our final goodbye.
My father, I will respect
My mother, I will obey
As the eldest, I will stand erect.
To be smart, wise, and correct
I will forever be loyal and faithful to my kin;
the words of my elders I will heed
with honor, I make this solemn vow,
for this is my family creed
