OPTICS / FLEDGLINGS THE QUANTUM ACADEMY CLEAR VISION How I Made This Poem by: Kiana R. Fuentes As I sat in my room, confused and mad I crumpled papers that I tore from my pad I flung pencils and threw all my erasers That soon will hit my parents and sister by: Roma Bartolome Alone, I walk down the streets I hear shouts, laughter, and bars playing awesome beats Guys in skateboards, girls tin their shortest skirts And I, merely wearing a plain white shirt As I continued walking, visions got more and more exciting “So this is the modern world,” I said thinking it was interesting Passed by a street and saw a group in a narrow circle They were bursting in laughter while each holding a green bottle Suddenly one girl noticed my presence To my surprise I attempted running, “I have no pennies nor cents!” Then she yelled, “We mean no harm. C’mon let’s have some fun!” I smiled and held her hand, my fear was all gone They handed me the same bottle, I tried and wondered why it tastes bitter But seeing them drinking much, I endured it and felt like this time it tastes better Finished five bottles and my world suddenly went spinning And all of them pointed at me saying, “Hey, want to try herbal smoking?” “I need to pass a creative poem” I said as I started to scream and groan I need a topic plain and simple Then I started smiling, showing off my dimple Then a thought hit me right in the head While I was hugging a pillow on my bed I stopped my yells, groans and weird moans Then I started writing this awesome poem I grabbed my pen and my empty piece of paper And made a poem that will soon be super I wrote, I scribbled and I crossed out I smiled, I frowned but I did not shout I finished this poem with time to spare Then I let people read it with care And this is how my poem was made I hope you liked it, give it a good grade Without second thought I gave in Intentionally forgetting that it’s a sin Because of curiosity, I tried everything that seems new But as I indulged more and more in these things, I found myself to be blue Is this really the life I wanted? Why did all these things happen? The world is full of wonders and mystery I don’t know what to do, I’m lost! This is not me Incomparable Man And one day as I slept, a vision flashed in my dream “You are my child and I love you. Come with me,” said Him. I was awakened, teary-eyed, felt sorry for what I did. So I uttered, You are the Lord and my savior, you should take the lead. He’s so caring, responsible and smart I love him right from the start He’s very good with Math Now, what can you say about that? It was not easy to recover, but step by step I was relieved With all these things that had happened, thought I should’ve not believed But with every mistake there’s a lesson; life must go on, Remember to put God first, and you will be guided from then on He’s a man of few words, and he’s very good with chords He has a good sense of humor but he doesn’t like rumors by: Sheryn Kate Pagco From me to you My love for him is endless because to me, he is priceless And when I see him, I can’t help but smile If I raise my hand towards the velvet black sky Pray tell, darling, will my thoughts reach you? As I ponder to reflect, On the man I most respect, This man you should adore because he is my hero and protector by: Denise Congson The exc
