Data from 2014-15 New Teacher Workshops:
Overall, the mean ratings of quality (presentations, presenters, and facilitators)
utility, and goal attainment have realized an agreement rate exceeding 90% across
ratings; highlights are laid out below.

The four goals set across sessions were achieved, with 93.5% of respondents
agreeing that the goal of “informal networking” was met (across sessions) and
95% agreeing that they felt “motivated to discuss topics,” and 95% having an
opportunity to carry away ideas.
In nearly every domain measured, new teacher participants rated both the quality
of offerings and the usefulness of sessions exceptionally positively. At no time did
more than 2 respondents in any session rate any single event (quality or utility)
lower than the scale’s hypothetical midpoint (e.g., choices: 1 low quality/not
useful or 2 tended to be of low quality or utility).
The evaluator argued that the consistently high utility ratings suggests the
planning committee matched needs to sessions very successfully.
Data from Instructional Coaching Induction Program
Pre-post evaluations of coaches and novice teachers are summarized in the following statements:
Participating new teachers started out positive and confident and increased in skill level across the academic year.
The highest-rated impact items for new teachers were reflection, planning and assessment.
New educators in the instructional coaching program demonstrated reduced stress, more intentionality about staying in
the field, and greater confidence as a result of participation in the program.
Across the years, the following program factors produced growth: instructional coaching, co-teaching, and
informal principal observations.
