INSTRUCTIONAL COACHING INDUCTION PROGRAM
ANIMOTO VIDEOS!
The Instructional Coaching Induction Program (ICIP) builds off of and aligns with
the edTPA (Teacher Performance Assessment), providing professional
development and support in the edTPA’s 3 Elements of Teaching, which are
planning, student engagement, and assessment. The purpose of instructional
coaching is to develop and mentor novice teachers in the P-12 setting. Using the
ICIP throughout the year, instructional coaches/mentors and
principals guide new teachers so
they have opportunities to reach
their teaching potential. The ICIP is
a performance-based, professional
development and effectiveness
program that helps teachers
engage in understanding the art
and practice of teaching in
relationship to student learning.

Gregg Hermerding and Milissa Walz
summarizing each New Teacher
Workshop. In addition, creation of
monthly videos reflect the stages that
new teachers are experiencing
throughout their first year of teaching.
