1950s
Francis McCormack ’51 has been retired for 22
years. He retired after working 23 years as Senior
V.P. General Counselor of Atlantic Richfield (ARCO).
He is happily living in California.
1960s
Joseph E. Scalia ’64 has authored
the book, UFSD 71: A School Novel,
which he says was 46 years in the
making and is available on Amazon.
Scalia taught English and Creative
Writing for 33 years in Hicksville,
Long Island, New York, to junior
and senior high school students.
He previously published the novels FREAKS and
Pearl, three short story collections, three eBooks
and a collection of his poetry.
Charles Schretzmann ’64 is a father of six and
grandfather of nine. His hobbies include cryptogra-
phy and playing lead trumpet with the Rossmoor
Big Band. He would love to hear from fellow
members of the 1960 –64 Campus Tones.
John Russell ’67 and his wife Jane are hospice
volunteers in Hernando County, Florida. They
minister to patients taking their last journey
(11th Hour) before God takes their hand. John
is grateful for the lifelong education provided
by Franciscans. He sends blessings to all.
John Fedele ’68 has retired after 35 years on
Wall Street as a systems analyst.
Charles Parente ’68 has been elected president
of the Home Owner Association of Service in
the community of Grande Dunes, Myrtle Beach,
South Carolina.
Norman A. Wagner ’68 was recently honored for
community service by the I AM CI Foundation, a
local Central Islip, Long Island, New York, founda-
tion. He has served on the Central Islip Board of
Education for 14 years and as Board President for
the past four years. Additionally, he serves on the
Central Islip Library Board and chairs the Central
Islip Memorial Day Parade committee.
Deacon Nicholas A. Daddona ’69 and his wife
are retired. He is now a Byzantine Catholic Priest,
having been ordained in April of last year.
Anthony Santorufo ’69 volunteers in radiation
oncology at a cancer care center and is a responsible
foster parent for intensive treatment children.
1970s
Michael Magnavita ’71 still recalls many happy
days at the College, and sends his greetings to
the class of 1971.
Bob Smith ’72 was honored by the Chapel of
Four Chaplains of Philadelphia with the Legion
of Honor Award. The award was based on
Smith’s collective volunteer activities at his parish,
St. Francis College, Knights of Columbus, Staten
Island Catholic Youth Organization Track & Field,
and the Catholic Accountants Guild. This honor is
awarded to recipients for service above and beyond
the nominee’s regular vocational responsibilities

and member/officer responsibilities in a civic,
fraternal, or veterans service organization. Farmingdale and her Master’s in Nursing
Administration and Informatics from Molloy College.
Thomas Pellinger ’74 sends his best to all alumni
swimmers and water polo players as well as
members of the current program. 2000s
Mary Anne Ballow-Belluso ’75 has retired after
40 years working in the insurance industry. She is
happy to now reside in Middletown, Delaware.
Robert Atanasio ’76 was inducted into the Girls
Catholic High School Athletic Association Hall
of Fame. He previously was the athletic director
and basketball and softball coach at St. Saviour
High School. He presently coaches junior varsity
basketball at Fontbonne Hall Academy.
Patricia Carucci Kerner ’76 now works at the
Diocese of Rockville Centre as the Director of
Human Resources.
Lorraine Altmann ’79 now holds a master’s in
nursing from Pace University in New York.
Joann O’Neill-Quinterno ’79 is proud of her son,
Jamie Quinterno, who has opened PEXA LABS
in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The film that Andrew C. Fisher ’00 directed, “The
Right Thing,” screened at the Manhattan Film
Festival last spring as well as at the Festival de
Cannes. The short film, produced in 2017, is
described as a revenge story, with revenge painted
in shades of gray to show its complexity.
Maria Blandino ’03, Director of Financial Aid at
St. Francis, gave birth to son Salvatore Umberto
Blandino on September 6, 2018. He weighed in
at 7 lbs. 9 oz.
Melissa Duron ’03, Accounting Supervisor in the
Department of Finance at St. Francis, welcomed
daughter Lillian Grace into the world on March 30,
2018. She weighed 7lbs. 8 oz.
Karimah P. Tarazi ’03 recently received the 2018
Angel of Mercy Award from the National American Arab
Nurses Association, in recognition of her dedication
to nursing in her native Palestine and beyond.
Carl E. Coulanges ’08 is now a
full-time instructor at Suffolk
Community College in Selden, NY,
teaching Television and Radio.
Carl is also an adjunct professor
here at St. Francis College.
1980s
Rick Dolan ’82 was inducted into the Girls Catholic
High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame.
He previously coached girls’ basketball and softball
at Nazareth High School, where he was also athletic
director, football coach, and physical education
teacher.
Robert S. Hojnacki ’82 was named chief develop-
ment officer with the Center for Family Justice (CFJ),
which serves victims of domestic and sexual
violence and child abuse in six Fairfield County,
Connecticut, communities. As a member of CFJ’s
senior management team, Hojnacki will lead all
fundraising and development initiatives at the
Bridgeport-based nonprofit, which last year served
almost 10,000 women, men, and children in the
Greater Bridgeport area.
Christopher Johnson ’89 has joined the New York
Blood Center as senior manager, risk management.
His duties include managing New York Blood
Center’s enterprise risk management programs,
including insurance, worker safety, and enterprise
risk management programs to formulate, implement,
administer, and evaluate risk management strategies
that will efficiently and cost effectively manage risk.
Kenny Akerson, who attended St. Francis in the
1980s, was named general manager of Cannon
Motors of Mississippi. Born in Brooklyn and raised
in Nevada, Akerson returned to Brooklyn to attend
St. Francis, where he played on the baseball team.
He moved his family from Biloxi, Mississippi, to
Memphis, Tennessee, after Hurricane Katrina. He
has worked in the automobile industry for 13 years
and returned to Mississippi for this new position.
1990s
Diane Gafa ’90 is the PACU (post-anesthesia
care unit) nurse manager of The Heart Center at
St. Francis Hospital on Long Island. After graduating
from St. Francis College with a B.S. in Health Care
Administration, she earned her RN from SUNY
2010s
Christopher Mundy ’12, was part of the winning
team for Lock It Plates, a product devised as a more
convenient way to transport food. Lock It Plates won
$12,000 in prize money at this year’s Florida Atlantic
University Business Plan Competition hosted by
FAU’s Adams Center for Entrepreneurship and the
College of Business.
Candice Ramoutar ’14 recently completed her
master’s degree in Urban Studies and an advanced
certificate in Public Policy and Administration with
highest honors. She plans to pursue her doctorate.
Christian Fisher ’16 is currently pursuing writing
while volunteering at the New York City Rescue
Mission, where he says he has acquired many
kitchen skills.
Jack Binks ’16 is studying for his PhD in psychology
at Teeside University in England. He was awarded
top prize for his research presentation at the
Research in Imagery and Observation Conference
at Bielefeld University in Germany, which is attended
by scientists from all over the world.

of serving as the Collen Queen at the 37th Annual
Great Irish Fair of New York, held on September 22
at Coney Island.
Gianmarco Ciotti ’18 is the Program Coordinator
and a head coach at Juventus Academy in
New York. ●
