1990s Henry A. Giron ’90 is looking forward to possible terrier events in sunny Florida, where he resides. Lisa Racioppo ’92 has gone from the boardroom to the emergency room. This spring she returned to St. Francis College to talk to students about her career in advertising, her switch to nursing, and her memoir that tells the tale, From Brooklyn and Back Again (PanAm). Through the Reach the Unreachable program, Thompson will teach students who might not otherwise have an opportunity to experience the art of performance. As with all her Necessary Arts programs, Thompson uses theatre arts and literacy development to help children increase self-esteem, character development, leadership skills, and English language development. In addition to founding Necessary Arts more than 10 years ago, Thompson has taught at International Schools in Trinidad and Tobago, Qatar, China, and the United Arab Emirates. (Photo, below.) Ron Castorina, Jr. ’01 was elected to the New York State Assembly in a special election this past April. He represents the 62nd District on Staten Island. Castorina, Jr. comes from a family of civil service. His father was a firefighter with the FDNY while his grandfathers worked for the NYPD and the transit system. He has had his own legal practice on the South Shore for the last 10 years. Erin Golembiewski Rubin ’06 and her husband Jeremy Rubin are proud to announce the birth of their son Oliver Elijah Rubin. Megan Golembiewski ’14 is his proud Godmother. Douglas Donahue ’01 joined Mayer Brown as a partner in the firm’s global Banking and Finance practice and Derivatives and Structured Products group. Kelly MacLellan ’07 recently wed Brian Byrnes at Saint Ephrem’s Church in Brooklyn. Kelly was escorted to Saint Ephrem’s by DSNY bagpiper and former Terrier, Pat Doherty, along with her parents Thomas ’95 and Kathleen, and sisters Caitlin and Meghan ’15. The wedding reception took place at El Caribe in Mill Basin, where her fellow alumni Kevin Conlon ’11 and Sal Demma ’09 and ’11 provided the entertainment with their company, Underground Sounds. 2016 Charter Day with Wayne Williams ’02, his boss Ken Thompson, and from St. Francis College Board of Trustees Chairman John Tully ’67, Provost Timothy Houlihan, and Vice President of Government and Community Relations Linda Werbel. Wayne Williams ’02 was named to the City & State Class of 2015 New York City 40 Under 40 Rising Stars. Williams is Senior Adviser for Intergovernmental Relations at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, working for Brooklyn District Attorney Kenneth P. Thompson. Williams previously worked for State Assemblyman Hakeem Jeffries (now a Congressman) and the Department of Financial Services. Marguerite Dougherty ’96 was re-appointed as a Brooklyn Criminal Court judge. She began working in the court as a court officer, while working her way through St. Francis College and Brooklyn Law School. Before becoming a judge, she was Executive Director, Assistant General Counsel for JPMorgan Chase and an attorney at Jones Day and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. 2000s Vanessa De Almeida ’00 (below) was awarded this past May with the St. Francis College President’s Award for 15 Years of Dedicated Service. Christine Malfitano ’07 is happy to announce her engagement to John McKenty. Julie Acuff ’03 has been named regional manager for the Northeast for Wells Fargo Capital Finance Commercial Services Group. Acuff joined Wells Fargo Capital Finance in 2012. Before that she was the northeast underwriting manager at The CIT Group/Commercial Services. Eva Ventsislavova ’07 is the Commercial Manager at Debt Collection Agency JSC in Bulgaria, helping companies collect on outstanding debt. Andrew C. Fisher ’03 recently celebrated the New York debut of his new movie; Seeing Each Other, which was an official selection and Remi Award Winner at Worldfest Houston International Film Festival, and won Best Feature at Intendence Film Festival in Colorado. Lisa ’05 and Joseph ’05 DeSiena are now the proud parents of Nicholas John DeSiena, born this past May. Little Nicholas is also the grandchild of Donna DeSiena, who currently works in the Alumni Relations office at St. Francis College. Cesar A. Vargas ’05 was sworn in to the bar five years after graduating from law school. He is the first undocumented immigrant to get that status in New York. He is also the Co-Director of the Dream Act Coalition, which works to give a voice to undocumented immigrants. Rosmery C. Camilo ’06 and her husband Jaime Chauca are now the proud parents of Julianna Rose Chauca, born this past July. Jaime is Director of Enterprise Systems at St. Francis College. Laurie E. Blaske ’08 and Michael F. Phillips ’08 are now the proud parents of Milania Concetta, born this past July. Sal Demma ’09 and ’11 and his wife Melissa are the proud parents of future Terrier Giada Rose Demma, born this past May. John P.
