Sanderson Weatherall Teesside enjoys successful quarter thanks to active property market P roperty consultancy Sanderson Weatherall has enjoyed a successful third quarter working with property occupiers, owners and investors across the region. Over the past three months the firm has been instructed to market just over 40,000 sq ft of industrial, retail and office space across Teesside, bringing some new stock to the market following a raft of acquisitions earlier this year. George Williams, agent in Sanderson Weatherall’s Teesside office, said: “Despite traditionally being a quieter time of year, we have experienced an active market with high levels of demand for a number of properties, and are delighted to have seen some key deals get over the line. “We’ve had some great new instructions, which include two residential development sites in Teesside, totalling just over five acres, and a fantastic £13m residential investment opportunity in Middlesbrough. “We are also actively seeking residential sites for a number of clients, where we’ll be getting our building consultants and architects involved to deliver a finished product to the market.” The firm has also valued more than £12m-worth of commercial property during the quarter, and provided development appraisals on over 26 acres of land, across multiple sites, for a national house builder. Matthew Clarke, head of valuation at Sanderson Weatherall Teesside, said: “We continue to see the number of commercial property valuation instructions across all sectors in the region remain high. “Over the past quarter we’ve seen a buoyant investment market, especially on industrial properties, and an increasing number of transactions involving owner- occupier-led acquisitions in the office market. “On the residential side, the appetite for new build schemes, large and small, remains strong, with the level of work we’ve been doing for a national house builder in the region testament to that.” David Fairley, joint head of office at Sanderson Weatherall Teesside, added: “It’s fantastic to see so much going on in the Teesside property market and we’re delighted to be working alongside so many of the region’s owners and occupiers to keep that going. “We have a number of exciting new deals and jobs in the pipeline, and expect to see the market remain active over the final quarter of the year.” Sanderson Weatherall is a leading national firm of UK Chartered surveyors, property consultants and business asset advisors. Its Teesside team moved to second floor, 1,532 sq ft space in Roseberry House on Bowesfield Park, Preston Farm, in 2016 – a move which has transformed its property business.
