Results of our second annual poll among Tees business leaders
The results are out for foodie heaven! For the second successive year, we carried out an exclusive
poll among the Tees business community, asking you to vote for your three favourite restaurants.
Nearly 80 different eateries received votes but our top 20 form a mouth-watering list to ensure you’ll
never go short of ideas for where to eat next.
Here, we present the Tees Business Best Restaurant Awards.
20th Joplins, Great Ayton
Long-established restaurant where the
emphasis is on a locally-sourced selection of
seafood, while meat is supplied by award-
winning butchers, Petch’s.
19th The Orangery, Rockliffe Hall,
Hurworth
Rockliffe Hall’s flagship 3AA rosette
restaurant is set in the charming 18th
Century Old Hall. Executive chef Richard
Allen has a passion for premium ingredients
that look good, taste good and that are good
for you.
18th 12 Harland Place, Norton
Provenance Inns last year with plans focusing
on a hotel expansion and preserving the
venue’s tremendous reputation for fine food.
16th Meze Lounge, Middlesbrough
Authentic Turkish cuisine from welcoming
restaurant on Linthorpe Road. Opened in
2014 by Bulent Yalcin and Ozgur Burgaz.
15th Vadah, Stockton
Retained its position as the highest-placed
Indian restaurant in our annual poll. Vadah
serves up traditional Indian cooking with a
21st Century twist, with views overlooking
the River Tees and Millennium Bridge
14th The Masham,
Hartburn Village
Small, characterful pub serving up succulent
food in a relaxing atmosphere at the heart of
Hartburn Village, run by the Eddy family for
more than 20 years.
13th Brasserie Hudson Quay,
Middlesbrough
17th The Cleveland Tontine, Brasserie Hudson Quay is a contemporary
waterside bar and restaurant. The eaterie
sits alongside the Riverside Stadium with
panoramic views of the iconic Transporter
Bridge.
A 19th Century coaching inn, the renowned
restaurant and hotel was bought out by < Vadah, Stockton
Restaurant that also features a bakery,
delicatessen, patisserie and food shop.
