To test their idea for the series they made a fake
trailer, using clips from more than 25 movies.
The kids were asked to watch some classic movies
like the Stand by Me, The Goonies, and
Poltergeist.
They auditioned 906 boys and 307 girls to find
their junior leads.
The main titles were inspired by the work of
Richard Greenberg, the designer behind titles like
Alien, Superman, The Goonies, and The Dead Zone.
There were no plan for Steve and Nancy to
