The TWIN© system is a state-of-the art SCADA

The data is beneficial to operators because
the TWIN© system calculates air emisssions in
real time and tracks those emissions overtime
creating a record of emissions as required under
certain regulations. The system also automatically
alerts operators whenever there is an anomaly in
operations. For instance, if there is a sudden drop
in line pressure or fluid levels, the system alerts
the operator. Sudden changes in line pressures or
fluid levels are the first sign of a spill. The benefit
is greater spill prevention technology which
mitigates both damages and financial losses.
This type of spill prevention is also required by
current SPCC regulations.
F i n a l l y, o p e r a t o r s h a v e i m p r o v e d s e c u r i t y a t
facilities because the TWIN© system also notifies
them when an untimely drop in fluid levels is
detected. For example, a drop of 10’ of fluid out
of an oil tank at 3:00AM would indicate that oil
is being stolen from the facility.
