Expo Getting New Name as Industry Faces Change
In order to meet demand and reacting to ever increasing
amounts of oil and natural gas production around the
United States, the pipeline industry is realizing the need
to switch direction of the flow of pope that is already
in the ground.
“As production out paces expectations, the industr y
has to do something with it/” said Tony Romanello, a
senior business development representative for Explorer
Pipeline.
Romanello spoke during the fifth annual Tulsa Pipeline
Expo at the River Spirit Expo center at the Tulsa state
fairgrounds on Tuesday.
Greg Lorson, CEO of Edmond-based Total Energy &
Environmental Management Co., or TEEMCO, said the
name change was a positive.
“Oil and gas are just products – we are in the energy
business,” Lorson said. “Once we understand what
business we are in, we can expand our horizons. Once
you understand what your clients really need, then you
can be responsive.”
In the energy industry there are alternative fuels, and
protecting the environment is crucial.
“With each energy source, there are technological
challenges, including environmental impact,” Lorson said.
“Our Existing Infrastructure is unparalleled in the world,”
Romenello said. “We have pipe going from Point A to
Point B, nut now have the opportunity to go from Point B
to Point A. Since we have a piece of pipe in the ground,
we can repurpose it.”
