If you could go back in time to five years ago, what would you have put in place in order to have something you want today?

This could be anything you want, so maybe go to university to get a degree, join a gym so today you would be a healthier fitter you, put a saving plan in place so today you would be wealthier giving you the option to maybe buy a house, start a business or even just to travel?

Obviously looking back and wishing you did this or did that isn’t going to change anything but using your past is an important tool to assess what you need to do going forward if you want to change things in your current lifestyle tomorrow.

Having a five year plan is so important, five years is long but not too long. It gives you enough time to be able to accomplish and achieve many things but not too long that it becomes an endless task.

Statistically people who write down clear dated goals and have a plan to achieve them are 33% more likely to achieve what they want but also they earn on average nine times more over their lifetime than those who don’t have any plans or goals. (Doesn’t sound to crazy now hey?!)

After looking at what you want to have achieved within the next five years it’s important to break down your goals into years, months, weeks and then days so you have a clear map on what you need to do daily in order to achieve the bigger picture five years down the road.
