General Introduction
The present book is the second of two which aim at providing concrete
examples of communicative language teaching aimed to be used in primary schools in
Greece. It focuses on the teaching of written skills, i.e. reading and writing and is
subsequently divided in two parts. Part I deals with the teaching of reading, while part
II focuses on the teaching of writing. What is considered unique is that in each part,
an adaptation of an existing lesson of the students’ book is provided, before
proceeding with a suggestion which is based on authentic material. A full list of the
activities as well as detailed lesson plans which provide a full justification of each
activity are provided.
