Draw a class map of your playground showing the locations
of the muddiest puddles!
Spell out your name or initials in twigs, pebbles or leaves –
photograph your creation before letting it return to nature
Lie down outside and do some cloud watching! What shapes or
patterns can they see? Can they see something starting with the
letter _____? Something that relates to the theme of _______?
Make daisy chains or learn to whistle with a large blade of grass
Create a weekly diary to record the changes in a chosen plant or
bird nest. The children could take turns to update the class diary
with picture and diagrams
Collect a beautiful flower to give to someone special
Make a ‘sticky bracelets’ to wear on your nature walk – wrap
sticky tape/duct tape LOOSELY around the children’s wrists (sticky
side out) and then add special spring time treasures to the
bracelet as you walk (flowers, leaves, feathers etc.)
Above all, don’t forget that spring is happening outside
the classroom, so make the most of every opportunity to
head outdoors…have a great spring!
